Being forced into my shell You could be next to me I wouldn’t have known Posters of me Everywhere like I’m living a lie A life I once lived I knew I’d be Replaced and always 12 miles behind you from the start dear Being forced into my shell You could be next to me I wouldn’t have known Reinforced inside my shell I’m who I want to be And know where I stand That life I once lived I’ve shed I’m starting once again evolved from solace Deep breath Its not their choice to make Give yourself permission to start again Talk it through Reset, restart. All systems are go All systems are go.

I’m coming home City streets roamed All on my own I’m coming home This is my way out I’m breaking free Paris in the night Is made of dreams Dreamt by those laid on her streets Blinding lights Blinded sights (through the bridge) Paths we crossed How could you see us as one (through the bridge) (let’s spend the night alone) Paris in the night is made of dreams Hold me in the night So I can sleep I’ll put the paintings away Blinding lights Blinded sights (through the bridge) Paths we crossed Where has my mind gone (through the..) Just you That’s all that I need In my head I play the scene Dance with the night Emotions alight As I clung to what you said cet amour m'a reveille (this love woke me) Cet amour ma reveille Love forever This first one Love forever This first one Love forever This first one Love forever This first one This love…

about

A Brief Return to Solitude is the debut EP from Bristol Multi-Instrumentalist and Producer Oli Morris. The inspiration to create the EP came from an urge to return to having a routine and control that Oli found over the lockdown period. The project outlines his recovery from trauma after taking time off touring, having time for himself and figuring out his next steps. It serves as an allegory of feeling lost and getting through it. He also found this period of time provided lessons for him in growth, and hopes to pass this on to anyone feeling in a rough place.
